So, we were in Bologna Italy, in a very nice apt. but unfortunately it was time to move on. As I mentioned the new (1 night) apt was pretty close to the train station so after a lite breakfast we caught our train to Roma.
Pretty uneventful, mostly boring countryside.
Rome - The hotel that we thought we booked, wasn't booked. Luckily the hotel mgr. knew a girl next door that rented rooms. Not the greatest of accomodations (especially the last night, it was a sleeper sofa, with out even a fan in the room, and right on a busy street. Not too much sleep that night), but all in all it worked out well. We were ~2blocks from the Vatican. So we visited St Peter's basilica, the Sistine Chapel, the Castel San Angelo, the Trivi fountain and a host of other old things. We put in a lot of mileage on the shoes.
From Rome we set off for Cairo, not knowing what to expect. Very hectic, left us a little dazed. checked into the JW Marriot Cairo ( you can look it up to see it). VERY NICE! But we only spent 1 night, we were going to Luxor where are room cost less than cocktails in the bar at the JW.
Luxor - walked out and met a taxi driver that took us in hand and talked us into hiring him for 2days. I'm running out of internet time so I'm cutting off here.
